Dr S.A. Moodley specialises in hip and knee replacement (arthroplasty) for patients with arthritis, and in knee arthroscopy. He is one of the three founding partners of BMR Orthopaedics.
After qualifying at the University of Natal and completing his specialist training in South Africa, he worked in the United Kingdom under senior surgeons, performing mainly hip and knee surgery, and completed a fellowship in knee surgery at the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary. He gained further academic experience through Nottingham University’s orthopaedic training programme. He worked in state hospitals and then began private practice at Chatsmed and Isipingo before co-founding BMR Orthopaedics in 1999.
Dr Moodley consults to orthopaedic companies on surgical teaching in South Africa and internationally, and has presented at national and international meetings.
